Why Your Website Traffic Is Dieing

Is your website reflecting the normal pattern of a site that is left to fend for itself!

A 15-30 page site that gets no other additions, may  follow this exact pattern.

  1. Get a few pages indexed and listed in the search engine.
  2. Get all pages indexed.
  3. Get a nice bubble of traffic in the beginning.
  4. Traffic drops away as the bubble bursts, and you get a more realistic and stable position.
  5. Months down the track your site gets run through a separate  algorithm to filter your site against the search engines crap filter.
  6. Website traffic falls away drastically.

That last one is the killer.

Think about this for a minute… Google wants to try and clean up the search results of sites so that users get better quality results. Most websites are just out to make a bit of affiliate or adsense money without actually adding any real value, information or products to the userbase.

So what do these kinds of sites all have in common?

  • The majority of pages link to an affiliate link.
  • The site goes up but nothing new is added for months or ever
  • The site gets some initial links over a month but then nothing, not even social links from the owner.

When you create something -anything - it automatically falls under the natural law of entropy. One new piece of content each week would simply tread water and hold your position. To get it back to where it was, will be harder than treading water but it can be done!

But first DECIDE which website is going to be your business!!! Your WORK!!!
Now that you have played around in the Internet Marketing and Affliate Marketing industry, PICK JUST ONE NICHE!!!
ONE SITE!!!

And focus on creating quality content every day, even if its just 100 words.

So…

1. PASSION:
Find something your passionate about, the passion will maintain your commitment to working on improving your ONE site every day!

2. WORK:
There is no easy ride or shortcut as promised on every sales letter. It should be a business with a good business plan and someone at the helm every day.

3. QUALITY:
Be the best, pick a niche where you can realistically aim to be the best. Produced great information, great charts, great ebooks, great content.

And most importantly!!!

DON’T DROP THE BALL TO GO CHASE ANOTHER ONE!

It can take a while to find that ONE website that is the one you WANT to work on every day. But that is the secret!!!

And don’t bullshit the visitors. At the moment why is your website online?

So you can make money? If that is true, the visitors can smell it. Google takes a while but it too works it out. Do either of them want a site that’s only reason for being and only value is to make money?

If it’s your passion you will be draw to research your niche at every chance you get, your research and path of learning is always above some other person and those people are your readers, your potential customers.

Your niche could literally be ‘Bread and Butter’, you would kick arse… But only if you were prepared to buy, test, research, try, compare, write and talk about bread and butter twice a day. Without any monetization on that site, eventually the manufacturers would be lining up to pay you to for sponsorship and endorsement deals.

But its going to take ALOT of FOCUS and WORK!
COMMITMENT to ONE site
PATIENCE to keep going until all your work really pays off

Failure is simple dropping the ball

Success is simply running with ONE ball every day

So now what…

Refocus
Choose
Commit
Focus again
WORK
Unsubscribe and un-renew from everything
Keep the one idea that you can actually manage and run with!

You cant be told this lesson, there is NO ‘I told you so’. You have to learn it the hard way. Every successful IM goes through it, every one of them has created a website that was abandoned to the weeds.

Don’t think the internet is different to the real world of business.

1. Pick a passion that will make a great business
2. Work your butt off for 3 years minimum
3. Be the best in your niche, be remarkable

Excellence will be tolerated!
