Setting The Tone for Social Bookmarking

Submit your blog posts, and use the “right” tags to mark them. People down the line will reuse them, and if enough people bookmark the thing, it will show up in searches, which are VERY targeted. If it’s extremely viral, it will even show up in the front page.

Also, people use delicious RSS with tags, I have http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/popular/design?count=15 and http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/popular/programming?count=15 . If something hot pops up with the tags “design” or “programming”, then I get to glance, read, or even visit it.

Other bookmarking sites might differ, and it’s hard to measure visits as they come from RSS clients mostly. You could attach a special url variable. And you can always check back how many people bookmarked it.

Cheers!
