There is no need to go registering a new domain every time you get an idea for a new niche.

I’ll show you a simple trick to avoid the costs of multiple domains.

2. Buying domain names.
   Again its the excitement of a new idea and the intoxication of newness that drives this problem.
   • You get a new idea (cause doing the WORK required for the old one to succeed is losing momentum).
   • You check for available domains names.
   • You find one and get caught up in paranoia and scarcity.
   • You buy it.
     If your smart you will use a coupon code (Eg. cjc749dom) and get a discount.
   • You never get around to putting a site on it or even selling it on.
   • A year later it comes up for renewal and its the first time you think about since it was registered.
   • You let it expire or think “Hmmm I must do something with this one day”.

It’s a hard habit to kick because each time, your more educated and more informed. The domain names and your plans for them are usually better.

Good Domain Name Ideas

1. Target an achievable keyphrase with some traffic and low competition
2. Use the keyphrase in the domain name
   • Dot Coms are best,
     (domainnameideas.com).
   • Or if your not going to be telling people your domain verbally use hyphens,
     (domain-name-ideas.com).
   • If the clean url is not available add stuff,
     (domainnameideas4u.com).
   • They rank better (SEO) when the target phrase is at the front,

   • Or find a long tail keyphrase with traffic,
     (gooddomainnameideas.com)
3. Qualify your target audience

It’s a good idea to keep the domain names short!

To succeed you really really need to stick with ONE site at first, but I understand that when your finding your way you it will take a while to find ‘your niche’ and you therfore need to try a few ideas out.

So if you want save money on domains here’s my domain name ideas:

1. Brand yourself.
   If you hide anonymously behind your website it comes across cold. Including your picture, story, character, personality, audio, video will all help to increase trust and convert visitors into click-throughs and sales.
2. Register one universal domain.
   Find a word or phrase that will work if its added to all your possible website ideas.
3. Create sub-domains for each idea/site.
   With my favorite web host you can have unlimited subdomains (and domains for that matter). With subdomains you can test ideas out and get them live for free.

EXAMPLES:

Always go with an idea that will keep your interest long after the ‘intoxication of newness’ has worn off.

• If you love to teach, register with<yourrname>.com as this will help to brand yourself. The subdomain then becomes your target keyword.

You will only need one and it’s ok you have time to make the right decision. The most important things is when you have one domain/idea, stick with, keep working with it. If you want to try out a different niche/idea use sub-domains, it’s cheaper.
